Privacy Policy

WunderKids ("we", "us") is a parental-management app that helps a parent turn their child's screen time into learning time, using Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) technology. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's protected.
Who sets this up
WunderKids is set up by a parent or guardian, on the parent's own Apple ID. The child does not create an account, sign in, or provide information directly to us — everything about the child (their name or nickname, and optionally a birth year) is entered by the parent, who controls and can edit or delete it at any time.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Parent email | Account sign-in (Sign in with Apple / Google) and, if you choose, progress notifications for you or a partner. |
| Notification token (your phone) | Lets us send you up to three short notifications a day about your child's practice — the first challenge, a bonus round, and an evening summary. You choose how many in Settings, and iOS lets you turn them off entirely. Nothing is sent to your child's phone. |
| Child's name or nickname | Shown on the kid's own home screen and your dashboard. |
| Child's birth year (optional) and school year | Sets age-appropriate difficulty. You can skip the birth year. |
| Challenge activity (questions answered, minutes earned, topics practiced, answer speed) | Powers the app itself and your progress reports. |
| Purchase history | Managed entirely by Apple; we only store your subscription status. |
| Device identifier | Links one child's phone to your family account. |
We do not collect your phone number, location, contacts, browsing history, health, financial, or other sensitive information. We have no third-party advertising SDKs and do not sell or share data for advertising. If we add an optional WhatsApp progress message later, it will ask for your number and your consent at that point, and this page will say so.
Payments
Subscriptions are billed and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card details — Apple shares only your subscription status (active, trial, cancelled) with us.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with our backend provider (Supabase) in the EU. Any future analytics we add will also run on EU infrastructure, with no session recording and no data shared with advertisers.
Children's privacy
WunderKids is a tool for parents, not a service marketed to or signed up for by children. A child never creates an account, provides an email address, or interacts with anyone outside their own family. The limited information about a child described above is provided by the parent and stays under the parent's control — viewable, editable, and deletable from the app or by contacting us.
Your rights
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time (parent dashboard → Delete my account) — this removes your data, your children's data and their paired phones from our systems in one step. For a copy of your family's data, or any other request, contact us at support@wunder.kids.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — for example if we add optional crash-reporting or analytics tools — we'll update this page and change the date above.
