How do I set up WunderKids?

Install WunderKids on your own phone, create an account, and choose whether your child's device pairs with yours or is set up standalone. On your child's phone you'll set a 4-digit grown-up PIN and pick the apps to gate. On an iPhone you'll also grant Screen Time access; on an Android phone you'll allow WunderKids' accessibility service and turn on its protection. The app walks you through every step. WunderKids runs on iPhone (iOS 16 or later, from the App Store) and Android (8.0 or later, from Google Play), in English and Hebrew, following the phone's language.

How does WunderKids work on an Android phone?

On your child's Android phone, WunderKids uses an Android accessibility service. It looks at which app is open, so it can show a short learning challenge before the apps you choose, and at Settings, app-store and home screens, only to spot an attempt to remove WunderKids. It never reads messages, typing, passwords, websites or anything else on screen, and the list of apps on the phone stays on the phone. The app shows you exactly this and asks for your agreement before the service is switched on. It also asks to be a device administrator (the "Protect WunderKids" step), only so a child can't force-stop or remove it — it uses no administrator powers, and you can turn it off at any time in WunderKids' grown-up settings, behind your PIN.

How does my child unlock an app?

When they open a gated app, WunderKids shows a short multiple-choice challenge first. Answering correctly unlocks that app for a set amount of time you control.

How do I change the locked apps or the rules?

Which apps are locked is set on your child's phone, behind the grown-up PIN — the list of apps on their phone stays on that phone, so it can't be changed remotely. Everything else — the hours their apps can open, how long each challenge unlocks for, how many questions a challenge has, how many challenges a day, how many bonus rounds they can earn after the cut-off, and the subject they're working on — you can change from your own phone: tap your child, then Plan. There are short videos for each of these at wunder.kids/guides. It reaches their phone the next time they open WunderKids or tap a locked app — usually within a few minutes. An Android phone also checks in on its own about every 15 minutes.

How do I read my child's progress?

On your phone, tap your child. The top compares today, this week or this month with a usual day, last week or last month; the Mastery map below shows every fact they've learned since day one — a fact goes green only once they've got it right on different days — and Practice habit shows the last four weeks, one square a day. The comparison and the Mastery map each have a Share button. There's a 30-second video at wunder.kids/guides#progress.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel in the store you subscribed in. App Store: open the Settings app on your iPhone → your name → Subscriptions → WunderKids → Cancel Subscription. Google Play: open the Play Store app → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → WunderKids → Cancel subscription. Either way, you'll keep access until the end of the current billing period. Deleting your WunderKids account doesn't cancel a subscription.

Can I get a refund?

We don't take payments ourselves, so refunds are handled by the store: Apple for App Store purchases, and Google under Google Play's refund policy for Google Play purchases.

How do I remove WunderKids from my child's Android phone?

WunderKids pushes back any screen that would remove it, so turn its protection off first. On your child's phone, open WunderKids, tap the gear and enter your grown-up PIN. Switch off Uninstall protection, and under Protect WunderKids tap Turn off protection. You can then uninstall WunderKids like any other app.

How do I delete my WunderKids account?

On your own phone, open WunderKids, go to the parent dashboard and tap Delete my account — it works the same on iPhone and Android. Without the app, email us from the address you sign in with. Full details are at wunder.kids/privacy#delete-account.

I forgot my grown-up PIN — what now?

During setup WunderKids shows a one-time recovery code — use it on the PIN screen to reset. If you've lost that too, contact us below and we'll help you regain access.

Is my child's data safe?

Yes. WunderKids doesn't sell data, doesn't run ads, and doesn't use third-party tracking. See our Privacy Policy for the full details of what's collected and why.
